Job description

Required Technical Experience

  • 5+ years of experience supporting NAS infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise backup systems, specifically Rubrik and it’s NAS backup system called NCD (formerly Igneous).
  • LUNs, fibre channel, NFS, CIFS, and storage performance optimization
  • Hitachi storage arrays
  • Storage networking gear : Brocade
  • Backup technologies including NDMP, deduplication, and compression
  • Replication and snapshot tools, such as HUR and FlashCopy
  • Storage automation and scripting
  • Capacity forecasting and utilization reporting
  • Supporting mission-critical, 24 / 7 enterprise or healthcare environments

Day to Day :

  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise backup systems, with a focus on Rubrik.
  • Migrate NAS backup jobs from IBM TSM to Rubrik NCD (formerly Igneous). Ability to write / modify PowerShell scripts is necessary for this task.
  • Knowledge of enterprise SAN and NAS storage arrays (Hitachi SAN, HNAS).
  • Perform provisioning of backup policies (policy domains), troubleshooting backup issues, open incident cases with the vendor as required.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and data replication strategies across data centers.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning across storage and backup infrastructure.
  • Participate in change control processes, including code upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware migrations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise backup technologies
  • Support internal teams and customers with provisioning requests and backup recovery needs.
  • Collaborate with vendors on hardware / software support, licensing, and issue escalations.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects involving backup systems.
  • Assist with monitoring tools integration and reporting on storage utilization and capacity trends.
  • Compensation :

    $45 / hr to $55 / hr.

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
