Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel CVICU Registered Nurse

Location : Fort Wayne, IN 46804 (Indiana nursing jobs)

Unit : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Shift : 12-hour nights (5 : 00pm – 5 : 00am), every other weekend

Hours per Week : 36

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1780 - $1910

Patient Ratios : ICU : 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1 (based on acuity); Step-down : 4-5 : 1

Unit Size : 42 beds (22 ICU, 20 Step-down)

EMR System : Cerner

Scrub Color : Navy blue

Floating : Required to other ICUs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (must reside more than 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted)

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience caring for critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients

Clinical proficiency with chest tubes, central lines, invasive line monitoring, ventilators, vasoactive drips, and bedside procedures

Ability to float to other ICU units as needed

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to CVICU and step-down patients

Monitor and manage invasive lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and vasoactive drips

Assist with bedside procedures and respond to emergencies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR

Float to other ICU units as required
