Geotechnical Engineer

We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental / engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new entry-level Geotechnical Engineer , you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

At SLR, you will have the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers, geologists, and other professional staff who are supportive of your growth and development.

Responsibilities :

The geotechnical engineer will be responsible for conducting subsurface explorations and construction phase field inspections. You will assist with the data interpretation, analysis, technical reports, specifications, and plans for design of foundations, ground improvement, retaining walls, pavements, dams, and other geotechnical aspects of proposed construction.

• Conduct site visits and observe subsurface investigations
• Observe site conditions and locate explorations in the field
• Log subsurface explorations and in-situ testing, collect samples, prepare logs
• Perform technical analyses and calculations for deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, roadways, seismic, ground improvement, and dam rehabilitation
• Perform construction phase observations and testing during earthwork and foundation preparations, prepare technical field reports
• Support and work with senior-level engineers on a variety of geotechnical projects
