Location : Indianapolis, IN

Contract : 13 Weeks

Shift : Day 3x8-Hour (07 : 00 - 03 : 30)

LOCAL PAY : $42 / hr

WEEKLY TRAVELER PAY :

Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid : $823.20

Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable) : $408.00

Weekly Gross : $1,231.20

A Histology Technician in a laboratory department is primarily responsible for receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination to support accurate diagnosis and research.

Roles and Responsibilities in the Laboratory

Retrieve, log, and prioritize tissue samples from surgery, autopsy, or diagnostics per standard protocols.

Embed specimens in paraffin and use microtomes or cryostats to cut thin tissue sections for slides.

Stain and prepare slides to highlight tissue structures and abnormalities for pathologist review.

Maintain and operate laboratory equipment including microtomes, cryostats, tissue processors, and staining machines.

Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains according to established laboratory procedures.

Requirements :

ASCP, ASCP-HT Certificate
