Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is seeking to hire a purpose-driven initiative-taking individual interested in assisting Illinois startups and small businesses in launching growing and thriving.

The Licensing and Permitting Portal Manager is housed in the Office of Entrepreneurship Innovation & Technology (OEIT) and will be tasked with building and maintaining a business permitting portal outlined in statute. The goal is to improve the States business climate by making it easier for entrepreneurs to navigate state requirements.

Essential Functions

• Under general direction serves as Project & Product Manager - Statewide one-stop Licensing and Permitting Portal.
• Under general direction leads Stakeholder Engagement.
• Leads the development of educationals tools for utilizing the Portal.
• Promotes Portal use and enhances the user experience.
• Serves as working supervisor.
• Consults with other managers in the Business Information Center (BIC) section of EIT to develop revisions of program policies and procedures to foster continued improvement to propose to the OEIT administrators.
• Collaborates with the other EIT program managers and DCEO divisions to understand how all programs offered in the division / agency interconnect and impact businesses.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
