Job Summary The House Supervisor functions as the Administrator for all hospital Departments after hours. Coordinates the interdepartmental activities of hospital associates through the interpretation of hospital standards. Functions as the extension of an on-site representative for Administration and Department Directors. Acts as liaison between Departments, Hospital Administration and staff. Provides administrative support to staff in the absence of the Manager and / or Director or designee. Collaborates with all disciplines in the coordination of quality patient care. Facilitates patient placement and timely patient throughput to the appropriate care setting. Works collaboratively with Unit Shift Managers providing guidance and direction in daily operations. Adheres to and supports hospital and department policies and acts as a resource for staff. Identifies and intervenes with Human Resource issues. Communicates these issues to the appropriate Director / AOC. Participates in disciplinary action of staff, as warranted. Assists at month's end to assure all renewals of licensures / certifications are completed. Collaborates with staff to ensure schedules meet Unit needs and to minimize the use of agency personnel. Reviews appropriateness of the use of specialty beds for prevention of falls and pressure ulcers.
