Job description

Stock Clerk Contract Position

We have an outstanding contract position for a Stock Clerk to join a leading company located in the Van Nuys, CA surrounding area.

Pay Rate : $18 - $21

Performs various types of product packing and shipping in accordance with established procedures and / or commercial standards; receives and stocks incoming equipment, materials, and supplies, and prepares shipments.

Responsibilities :

  • Processes all inbound and outbound shipments, including but not limited to sorting, logging, delivering, packing, and shipping
  • Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match the order
  • Packs and labels products based on established standards
  • Ensures that proper equipment, documents, and accessories are shipped with the correct order
  • Prepares shipping and receiving documentation and maintains orderly files for all documentation
  • Participates in the scheduling of daily transportation
  • Processes all receiving transactions and paperwork
  • Inspects all incoming freight for damage and follows up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues
  • Operates forklift and pallet jack
  • Assists in responses to requests for tracing of missing shipments
  • Assists in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the shipping area
  • Performs required administrative tasks and prepares required reports and correspondence
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager

Basic Hiring Criteria :

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 0-2 years of experience
  • Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant experience
  • Work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy
  • Duties are clearly defined, and methods and tasks are described in detail
  • Computer Skills : Familiar with the Windows Operating System- and with MRP systems is strongly desired
