Overview Assistant Professor (Studio Art- Ceramics) - Department of Art & Art History, School of Arts & Sciences at The City University of New York (Hunter College). Tenure-track position in Studio Art with a focus on Ceramics to start Fall 2026.

Responsibilities Ongoing creative research; graduate teaching and advising in Hunter’s nationally recognized MFA program; and teaching the college’s diverse undergraduate population in the beginning and advanced courses in Ceramics.

Active participation in the administrative operations of the department, including serving as faculty area head overseeing the undergraduate and graduate Ceramics studios.

Qualifications MFA degree is required. Active practice and demonstrable professional accomplishments and / or exhibition record, as well as college level teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assistantships on both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Candidates should be willing and able to teach in conjunction with curatorial initiatives.

Compensation Compensation is commensurate with experience, within the approved range of $87,978 - $105,593 (4 / 24 contract).
