Diesel Mechanic

JOB TITLE : Diesel Technician.

REPORTS TO : Yard Manager.

JOB TYPE : Full-time, Non-Exempt.

LOCATION : 6225 Thompson Rd. Syracuse, NY 13206.

HOURS OF OPERATION : Monday - Friday 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM.

OVER TIME : Saturday’s 8 : 00 AM to 12 : 00 PM as needed and / or requested.

COMPENSATION : $28-30 Based on experience & skills.

PURPOSE :

The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, heavy equipment such as tractors, roll-off trucks, lugger trucks, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine equipment.
• Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (tractors, roll-off trucks, lugger trucks, excavators, loaders, forklifts, skid steers).
• Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld and examine parts and engines.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
• Communicate with internal customers (yard | warehouse | transportation staff and management) in a professional and courteous manner.
