Coordinator, Adult Social Play
This position plays a pivotal role in growing adult tennis mass participation across the Southern Section, by developing, promoting, and supporting social play programs, entry-level Red Ball initiatives and flexible play formats for adults seeking convenient, community-based competition. By collaborating with state organizations, local providers, coaches, and program partners, the Coordinator ensures consistent delivery of high-quality experiences that align with USTAs mission to make tennis accessible, engaging, and fun for all.
This position will report to the Director, Adult Programs & Human Resources (DAPH).
Applications will be accepted through November 21, 2025 at 5 : 00 PM ET unless extended by the Southern Executive Director and / or DAPH.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide professional administrative support to the DAPH and department as needed.
- Coordinate and develop adult social play initiatives and programs by promoting and expanding tennis participation through beginner offerings, Cardio Tennis, Red Ball and other tennis outings. This includes partnering with state associations for program implementation, collaborating with internal USTA Southern departments, offering onsite support and leadership at events, and managing participation data and reporting.
- Collaborate with the USTA Southern Community Development, Marketing & Communications, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and State Partnerships departments to transition players into additional play opportunities.
- Support the NTRP self-rate appeals process, including conducting research, preparing submissions for the Self-Rate Appeals Committee, and managing notifications. USTA Southern processes approximately 3,5004,000 self-rate appeals annually.
- Support Concur-related tasks including grant submissions, vendor invoices, and volunteer expense processing.
- Serve as tournament staff for select Southern League Championships.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the DAPH and / or Executive Director.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree (preferred)Minimum 1 year of program coordination or similar experience (required)Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point (required)Software proficiency in Serve Tennis and TennisLink (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Suite & G-Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms), and virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom & Google Meet (preferred)Safe Play Certified, or ability to be certified within 30 days of employment (required)Competencies
Highly motivated and outgoing self-starter with desire to promote and grow tennis.Proven ability to coordinate and deliver successful social play events through all stages of planning and execution.Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new and existing technology platforms.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Working Conditions
Supervisory Role : No direct reportsHours of Work : Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM but requires hours outside of the core business hours.Work Environment : While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to move around while offsite; use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms. The position requires the lifting (of up to 15 pounds) at times. Currently, in-office positions currently operate in a hybrid office / home setting which allows flexibility to work from home 1-2 times per week, contingent on supervisor approval. Hybrid schedule is subject to change in the future.
