The Cat Scan Tech would be working for a Major Hospital and has career growth potential.

Schedule : Sun???Thurs, 9 : 00 AM???5 : 00 PM
Pay Range : $70-75 Hourly
Cat Scan Tech Responsibilities :
Demonstrates professionalism and service excellence during all CT procedures.
Obtains necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocols.
Maintains sterility of fields and instruments.
Correctly prepares requisitions.
Communicates effectively with patients and families before, during, and after procedures while maintaining privacy and dignity.
Adheres to HIPAA regulations and verifies patient identification per AHS policy.
Monitors patient condition before and after contrast injections and reports changes.
Ensures availability of medical records, prior studies, labs, and history.
Initiates emergency response when needed.
Maintains linen, contrast, biopsy, and drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
Adheres to room assignments (CT 1, 2, and 3).
Assists in maintaining CT storeroom and performing daily inventory / stocking.
Notifies Lead of expiring equipment or medications.
Cleans and inventories supplies; cleans gantry, table, and equipment after each use.
When assigned as Point Tech :
Triages procedures and coordinates emergency and unscheduled requests.
Assigns staff to ensure workflow efficiency and patient safety.
Communicates with all departments regarding patient status.
Ensures immediate patient transport post-procedure.
Assists with routine procedures.
Screens patients for allergies and contrast compatibility.
Ensures cleanliness and order of CT unit and working area.
Reports equipment malfunctions to Coordinator or Lead.
Maintains QA / QC requirements for daily, monthly, and ACR standards.
Recognizes unusual equipment conditions and alerts appropriate personnel.
Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols.
For urgent cases (Code Grey, Trauma, Partial Trauma) :
Acquires, processes, sends, and verifies images in PACS / RIS immediately per protocol.
Notifies radiologist as Code Grey images are sent and follows up with processed data.
Reports any unusual findings to the radiologist to ensure optimal patient care.
Cat Scan Tech Qualifications :
Required Education :
HS diploma / GED
Completion of a Radiography Technical Training Program (School of Radiography or College program)
Required Certifications & Licensure :
ARRT RT(R)
ARRT RT(CT)
NJDEP New Jersey State X-Ray License
BLS Certification (AHA)
Preferred Experience / Equipment Knowledge :
GE APEX, Revolution, VCT scanners
Medrad Power Injector
EPIC EMR
Sectra PACS
Experience with CCTA, Calcium scoring, and IR (preferred)
