Position Overview :
As a Patient Care Technician, you will be trained to assist with non-invasive clinical patient needs, and have the opportunity to earn certifications as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) and Basic Life Support (BCLS-CPR). You will be expected to perform clinical duties in accordance with Holston Medical Group's standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare patients for examinationsObtain and document vital signs and measurements in Electronic Health Records (EHR)Dispose of contaminated supplies correctlyAssist with Urine Drug Screen (UDS) collectionsPerform nursing checks including expiration dates on samples / medicationsConduct Non-Stress Tests (NST's)Assist with sterilization of medical instrumentsEnsure exam rooms are clean, well-stocked, and properly maintainedMaintain patient confidentiality at all timesEffectively document vital signs in medical records using computer skillsAttend scheduled meetings and educational opportunitiesBe flexible to work in different office locations as neededObtain prior authorizations and pre-certificationsPerform Electrocardiograms (EKG's)Manage referrals and track compliance with ordered testsHandle various administrative patient-related documentsChaperone patients as neededProvide direct patient support and escortAssist in maintaining a safe and efficient work environmentRegularly engage with patients to ensure their needs are metManage sharps containers and biohazard wastePerform eye exams, including IRIS and Snellen chart testsMaintain required certificationsFulfill additional duties as assignedWork Environment :
This position involves a combination of office tasks, clinical examination rooms, and diagnostic areas, with rare exposure to communicable diseases and other clinical challenges typically found in a multi-specialty medical clinic.
Qualifications :
