Production Planner

At Zimmer Biomet, we believe in pushing the boundaries of innovation and driving our mission forward. As a global medical technology leader for nearly 100 years, a patient's mobility is enhanced by a Zimmer Biomet product or technology every 8 seconds.

As a Zimmer Biomet team member, you will share in our commitment to providing mobility and renewed life to people around the world. To support our talented team, we focus on development opportunities, robust employee resource groups (ERGs), a flexible working environment, location specific competitive total rewards, wellness incentives and a culture of recognition and performance awards. We are committed to creating an environment where every team member feels inspired, invested, cared for, valued, and have a strong sense of belonging.

What You Can Expect

Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet Company focused on medical devices for the foot and ankle, is hiring a Production Planner to join our Supply Team. The Production Planner is the primary owner of global kit planning and coordination, ensuring timely and accurate availability of sterile surgical kits to support sales demand and business growth. This role owns the end-to-end kit planning process, from translating demand forecasts into executable kit build schedules, to coordinating sub-component readiness, sterile processing, and production execution. This role serves as the central point of coordination between Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Commercial teams, ensuring kit build schedules are feasible, aligned to capacity, and clearly communicated across the organization. Success in this role is defined by on-time kit availability, schedule stability, and proactive risk management across the kit supply chain. This position is primarily onsite at Paragon 28's Englewood, Colorado facility, with limited remote flexibility.

How You'll Create Impact

Kit Planning & Scheduling (Primary Responsibility)

  • Own the end-to-end global kit planning process for all sterile and non-sterile kits.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish kit production schedules based on demand forecasts, sales requirements, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Translate forecasted and firm demand into executable kit build plans, balancing service level, inventory, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and adjust kit build schedules in response to demand changes, material constraints, or production disruptions.
  • Clearly communicate kit build schedules, changes, risks, and recovery plans to cross-functional stakeholders.

Material & Sub-Component Coordination

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure sub-component and raw material readiness for planned kit builds.
  • Monitor material availability and constraints that could impact sterile kit builds and proactively escalate risks.
  • Coordinate timing of sub-component availability with sterile processing and final kit assembly requirements.

Production & Sterile Processing Execution

  • Create and maintain production, sterile processing, and UDI schedules aligned to kit plans.
  • Release and manage manufacturing and sterile processing orders; track execution through completion.
  • Monitor WIP, finished goods, and kit inventory to ensure alignment with plan.
  • Collaborate with Distribution to ensure capacity, labor, and resources are aligned to kit build requirements.

Cross-Functional Communication & Business Alignment

  • Act as the primary point of contact for kit build planning across Operations, Commercial, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Communicate schedule changes, delays, and risks with clarity and appropriate lead time.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by providing kit supply inputs and scenario analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Background

  • Four-year Degree (B.S/B.A.) preferred, may accept prior supply chain experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in related field such as supply planning, purchasing, or supply chain required, preferably in medical device environment, may accept prior military service in leadership positions in lieu of specific supply chain experience
  • APICS CSCP/CPIM certification preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advance level Excel skills.
  • Support lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives.
  • Highly effective communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with detailed product line forecasts; familiarity with Sales & Operations business management process.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams.
  • SAP ECC or S4 experience preferred to plan and monitor production.
  • Previous medical device experience preferred.
