Liability Claims Assistant

SUMMARY Responsible for assisting Liability Claims Examiners with commercial injury and non-injury general liability and automobile claims in accordance with client, carrier and company guidelines, statutory regulations and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains claims diary;
• Processes claims within two working days of receipt;
• Processes check requests;
• Reviews mail and files correspondence in appropriate claims files;
• Documents all file activity;
• Interfaces with client and Claims Examiner to expedite claims process;
• Prepares checks for in-house bills;
• Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of applicable agency management systems;
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience 2 - 3 years experience in liability claims processing Responsible for attending continuing education as required SKILLS Strong oral and written communication skills, including telephone and listening skills Excellent customer service skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook
