Controller Position

Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strategic guidance for our organization in Portland, Oregon. This role focuses on managing month-end closing processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with grant accounting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in non-profit accounting and leadership skills to effectively manage the accounting team. Responsibilities include :

• Leading and overseeing month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
• Managing grant accounting processes, including tracking and reporting on grant expenditures.
• Supervising and mentoring the accounting team to encourage growth and ensure efficient operations.
• Monitoring and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial data.
• Collaborating on the selection and implementation of new accounting software systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensuring adherence to non-profit accounting standards and practices, including fund accounting requirements.
• Providing strategic input on financial planning and budgeting to support organizational goals.
• Conducting regular audits of financial processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
