Job Overview :

A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join its nationally recognized team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in advising California employers on workplace compliance and handling traditional labor matters such as union negotiations and grievance arbitrations. This role offers flexibility, with options for full-time, part-time, partner-track, or non-partner-track paths, providing significant opportunities for career development in a collaborative and growing legal environment.

Location : Duties :

  • Provide employment law advice and counseling to California-based employers
  • Handle traditional labor law matters, including union organizing campaigns, negotiations, and arbitrations
  • Advise clients on compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws
  • Draft and review employment policies, handbooks, and contracts
  • Assist clients with internal investigations and responses to administrative agency inquiries
  • Represent employers in labor and employment proceedings
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on complex litigation and workplace matters

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing labor and employment law
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law
  • Background in traditional labor law strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex legal issues
  • Interest in long-term career development within a dynamic practice group
  • Education :

    Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

    Certifications :

    Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
