Unit : Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Duration : 13 weeks (October 6, 2025 – January 4, 2026)

Shift : 10-hour day shifts (6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM; hours may vary)

Hours per Week : 40

Call Requirement : Yes (some shifts include on-call; no weekends or holidays unless on-call)

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1-2

Charting : Cerner EMR

Unit Size : 14 beds

Hourly Pay Rate : $86.89

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2020 - $2170

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or compact state

BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or pre-operative nursing experience

Flu and COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exceptions accepted)

Strong communication and critical thinking skills

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to pre-surgical and pre-endoscopy patients

Monitor and assess patient recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit

Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)

Participate in required procedures and provide clinical support to the PACU unit

Fulfill on-call duties and weekend nursing shifts as scheduled
