Overview
Executive Director, Development, Oncology – Edison, New Jersey. This role leads fundraising efforts for the Oncology Service Line and John Theurer Cancer Center (JTCC), including major and principal gifts, annual giving, planned giving, institutional giving, and events. The position supervises one Director and collaborates with Foundation leaders to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and long-term fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and monitor a comprehensive development program for JTCC and the network Oncology Service Line, including major gift fundraising.
- Set and achieve goals within budget; lead a team to produce at least $10 million annually in production revenue for JTCC and Oncology across the network.
- Understand the network-wide Oncology Service Line, its mission, programs, operations, and funding needs.
- Establish strong working relationships with JTCC staff and HMHF, and with services related to a comprehensive cancer center.
- Partner with physicians to engage grateful patients in fundraising priorities.
- Supervise the Director, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Oncology programs to ensure fundraising activities align with goals; develop and implement fundraising programs for research, program support, endowment, fellowships, Chairs and Professorships.
- Foster collaboration across the network Oncology Service Line, JTCC, and HMHF.
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate relationships with individuals capable of contributing to JTCC and the Oncology Service Line; plan cultivation and stewardship for major donors; lead cultivation events.
- Solicit contributions, solo or with strategic partners; partner with institutional giving to cultivate relationships and proposals for private foundations.
- Coordinate with HMHF on prospect research for JTCC (individuals, foundations, corporations) and participate in strategy meetings.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Bachelor's degree.Minimum of ten years of experience in fundraising for individuals, corporations, and foundations.Track record of identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors.Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of crafting proposals and donor materials.Proven management experience; ability to supervise and evaluate staff.Ability to work with physicians, Board members, and volunteer leadership.Working knowledge of planned giving; budget development and management; Raiser's Edge NXT and Google Suite.Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

Minimum rate of $153,732.80 annually. The posted pay reflects a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and may not include the full value of our total rewards package. Some roles may be eligible for incentives and shift differentials.
