Job Summary
We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a part-time Float Teacher to our team! Teacher will work with children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 13 years. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality.
Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE
Responsibilities and Duties
- Follow the program schedule
- Help carry out activity plans
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, do crafts, etc.)
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators and program coaches
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe environment for the children
- Maintain 12 hours of continuing Professional Development classes annually
Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or equivalentExcellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methodsFamiliarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classroomsExcellent communication and instructional skillsAbility to act as a mediator between childrenCool-tempered, friendly, and reliableA balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.Preferred :
