Description :

The position is responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment.

Also assembles, distributes, and delivers disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts, and supplies.

Operates and monitors sterilization equipment.

Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination.

Sterilizes, disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, and packages clean supplies and instruments.

Maintains records for all instruments and transports sterilized items to the designated area.

Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and impairment.

Properly checks power equipment as needed.

Takes measures to allow for easy instrument tracking, including following labeling processes and reporting missing instruments.

Communicates equipment and instrument inventory status with Central Processing staff and relevant personnel.

Responds to emergency situations by ensuring all emergency and additional cases are supplied properly.

Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with regulations.

Provides on-the-job training to newly hired associates in the department.

Promotes mission, vision, and values of the organization and follows service behavior standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

May be required to float to other departments based on business needs.

May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
