About The Position
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides rehabilitative care and treatment interventions under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA delivers evidence-based therapeutic services to patients with physical functioning disorders, ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and ethical standards. This role also supports patient education, documentation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver skilled, medically necessary, and evidence-based interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
Administer rehabilitative procedures, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, and use of supportive / assistive devices.
Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate necessary adjustments to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Provide education and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical functioning disorders and at-home care techniques.
Document all clinical interventions, treatment minutes, and patient records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary care teams regarding treatment plans, barriers, and discharge planning.
Contribute input for comprehensive discharge summaries and ensure continuity of care.
Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, rehabilitation team meetings, and required in-services or training sessions.
Assist with obtaining durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Support supervision of physical therapy students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
Adhere to APTA guidelines, state practice acts, and ethical standards in all aspects of professional practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience : Minimum 1 year of PTA experience – Required
New grads considered if Level II clinical experience (not only Level I observation).
Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehab experience – Required
Licensure / Certification :
Active PTA License – Required
Other : Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
