We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The Medication Technician will be responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents / patients in a safe and effective manner, ensuring compliance with state regulations and facility policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a compassionate demeanor, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities :Administer medications to residents / patients as prescribed, following established protocols and safety guidelines.Assist in the preparation and documentation of medication administration, ensuring accuracy in dosage and timing.Monitor and report any side effects or adverse reactions to medications to the appropriate healthcare personnel.Maintain proper medication storage, keeping the environment clean, organized, and secure.Support healthcare staff in maintaining up-to-date medication records and resident charts.Participate in medication management meetings and contribute to care plans as needed.Engage with residents / patients to provide education about their medications and address any questions or concerns.Perform basic health assessments, including monitoring vital signs as required.Maintain confidentiality of resident / patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medication administration.Qualifications :High School Diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medication Technician or similar preferred.Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in medication administration, is desirable.Knowledge of medications, their effects, and proper administration techniques.Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents / patients, families, and healthcare team members.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.Background check and drug screening required.Benefits :Competitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan optionsPaid time off and holidaysContinuing education opportunitiesHow to Apply :Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to [Insert Contact Information] with the subject line "Medication Technician Application."
