Program Eligibility - Current BCCNM Registration; must be a Canadian citizen or currently have permanent residency. Must hae a minimum of 1-2 years acute medical / surgical RN experience.

Applicants must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department.

The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance. Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program.

In Person Orientation Day : May 16 , 2025

Full Time Training : May 20, 2025 - Sept. 19. 2025

Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training.

This will ensure that candidates are able to consolidate and apply skills in the specialty area that VCH has supported and funded candidates to complete. In the event that a candidate leaves the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they were hired or VCH in under 18 months, VCH will seek to recover the cost of the program.

Training and post-training consolidation will be located at Richmond Hospital. The work site for these positions following training and post-training consolidation will be at Richmond Hospital.

Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 / Hr. - CAD $55.91 / Hr.

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the team in the Operating Rooms at Richmond Hospital in Richmond, BC.

As an RN in the Operating Rooms at Richmond Hospital you will :

• Provide nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied and complex surgical interventions.
• Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the patient / family.
• Consult, confer, and collaborate with other members of the surgical team.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement and best practice approach in nursing practice and patient care.
• Maintain and advance your own clinical competence.
• Participate on designated hospital committees / teams and approved research projects as assigned.
