Mid-Continent Group is seeking motivated candidates for our Underwriting Internship, starting April-May through the summer of 2026. This hybrid internship, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers a comprehensive understanding of the Underwriting Department and its collaboration with other business functions. Internships typically span 10 weeks and serve as a potential pathway to a rewarding career in insurance.

Internship Responsibilities

Interns will engage in meaningful assignments across various underwriting functions. Responsibilities include :

• Assist underwriters in evaluating and analyzing risk for commercial general liability insurance policies.
• Research industry trends, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
• Support the preparation of underwriting reports and documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on risk assessment and policy development.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions.
• Assist in the review and processing of insurance applications and renewals.
• Learn and utilize underwriting software and tools to support daily tasks.

Networking

Interns will connect with peers, employees, and leaders across the company. Activities include networking with fellow interns, lunch-and-learns, and long-term career development.
