Air Reserve Technician Officer Position
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer in the Operations Group Commander / Senior ART role. This position involves managing the flight operations function on a daily basis, including planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the operations organization, exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities, and representing the Operations Group with various installation and functional area organizations. The incumbent also manages the flying and ground training program for the group and may perform duties as a flight instructor or flight examiner as deemed appropriate by the Commander.

Specialized experience is required, including three years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the US military establishment in assignments that normally would qualify for progression into the position of Wing Operations and Training Officer or its equivalent. This experience must have included assignments wherein the applicant was required to have demonstrated ability to formulate plans and policies pertaining to operation and training of search / rescue, tanker, transport, fighter, specials operations, bomber, or reconnaissance units; operation of flying training schools; or aircraft performance programs. At least one year of specialized experience must have been of a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to that of the GS-13 in the Federal service.
Additional qualifications include holding or qualifying for a USAF Pilot or Navigator rating and being currently qualified in multi-engine or jet engine aircraft, as appropriate, within the past 36 months for non-Federal applicants and within the past 60 months for current Federal employees. Applicants must meet minimum instrument hours and flying hours requirements.
This position is subject to various conditions of employment, including U.S. Citizenship, security clearance, and mobility agreement requirements. Employees must maintain current certifications and may be required to work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may also be required.
