Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care needed by assigned patients under the direction of a licensed physician. The RN is knowledgeable about the principles, theories, current methods, and techniques of nursing practice. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN collaborates with the patient, their family members / significant others, professional peers, and other members of the health care team to individualize patient care.

The RN will direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice, as well as administrative and departmental policies and procedures. Professional education, training, or additional certifications may be required based on the specialty area.
