The Medical Assistant will prepare patients and rooms for treatment, take medical histories, maintain nursing supplies and triage. The MA will also complete and submit medical billings, forms, and general medical office duties, as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing 80%.
- Sitting 20%.
- Medical and office setting.
- Minimum moving requirements of 50 pounds in order to assist Provider with adjusting patient's positions.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, and position changes in order to examine and service patients.
- Exceptional hand eye coordination and control.
- Frequent patient and interoffice personnel interaction as this position is primarily in direct contact with patients and requires excellent customer
- Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for taking patient vitals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Care for patients to give specified office treatments at the direction of the doctor or provider.Maintain patient charts, complete insurance forms, and update as needed.Take patient vitals, blood and skin samples, as needed.Clean and dress wounds.Answer telephones, schedule appointments, help complete medical histories.Greet and direct patients and occasionally accept and process payment for products andAssist, as needed, with scheduling, tracking and following up on patient referrals.Responsible for checkingAssist in enrollment of patient in insurance program.Assist in Front Desk coverage and duties if needed.Call or write communications to patients for marketing or treatment reminders.Responsible for the inventory of medications / vaccines, equipment and any other supplies used on a regular basis and / or that has an expiration date.Responsible for submitting and follow-up for re-stocks, new orders, repairs and replacements.Responsible for the performance of quality assessment of any equipment or supplies.Responsible for the performance of CLIA waived labs as determined by competency.Meet or exceed patient satisfaction goals within practice.Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas.Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperativeMaintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendan
