Operating Room RN Job Details

Location : Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)

Setting : Surgical Services – Operating Room (OR)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Schedule : 3 shifts per week, plus one 12-hour call shift (overnight or weekend)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2030–$2180

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York RN license preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience

Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

Ability to participate in on-call rotation as scheduled

Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to provide high-quality perioperative care

Maintain a sterile surgical environment and adhere to infection control protocols

Monitor patient status and respond to changes during surgery

Accurately document all aspects of perioperative patient care

Participate in required on-call rotation for surgical support
