Join our dynamic team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in specimen collection, receiving, and referrals, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Maintain compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and other regulatory standards, focusing on infection control and the privacy of health information (PHI).
- Keep collection areas clean and well-stocked, ensuring a sanitary working environment.
- Assist in the procurement of departmental supplies alongside the team lead.
- Perform a variety of specimen collections including venipuncture, capillary collection, and more.
- Prepare specimens for referral to outside laboratories and manage accompanying paperwork.
- Ensure specimen integrity and fulfilment of collection requirements.
- Communicate effectively with customers, patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for documentation and order management.
- Take on additional related tasks as needed, including inventory management and cross-training opportunities.
- Participate in completing performance evaluations and competency assessments as required.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Preferred : High School diploma or equivalent.Bilingual proficiency in English / Spanish preferred.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy is preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry, and strong organizational skills are essential.Experience
One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure is preferred for candidates from Louisiana.All associates must obtain required certifications in accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy within the designated timeframe.
