Job description

Overview

We are seeking a part-time high school teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at our Carrollton, TX location for the 2025-2026 academic year. Classes may include Pre-Calculus and Chemistry.

Regina Caeli Academy (www.rcahybrid.org) is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition. RCA offers instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The positions are hourly, and childcare / nursery is provided for staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and teach classes according to RCA lesson plans in a highly structured classroom environment.
  • Follow curriculum and grading guidelines provided by RCA.
  • Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and the school administration.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith.
  • Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided; tutors are trained to instruct and manage the classroom according to RCA standards.
  • Ideal candidates may have experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching your own children, or prior teaching in a classical or private school (not required).
  • Strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, and a traditional view of the student / teacher relationship are desirable.
  • Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life, is expected.

  • All staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
  • All employees are required to have a clear background check.

    • Schedule & Preparation

  • Hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 8 : 45 am – 3 : 15 pm.
  • Tutors must be willing to prepare for classes at home, follow and implement lesson plans, and come to class prepared to teach.
