Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse Manager

Job Specialty : LDRP / FBC Management

Job Duration : 26 weeks

Shift : 8-hour days, includes weekends and call; first to float

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Yes, required for submission

Certifications : BLS required (ACLS, Adv-AWHONN, and STABLE preferred but not required)

Must-Have : Experience in Labor & Delivery, preferably in a rural setting with limited resources

Job Description :

• Manage the LDRP / FBC department efficiently and effectively, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Oversee and schedule staff within the department, ensuring adequate coverage, and meeting patient and departmental needs.
• Supervise and support the nursing team in providing care for low / moderate acuity labor and delivery patients, including c-sections.
• Facilitate outpatient visits for stress tests and post-partum follow-ups such as bilirubin checks.
• Collaborate with providers and other departments to manage challenges related to patient transport and high-acuity cases.
• Serve as the on-call leadership contact for department emergencies and support needs.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards and internal policies.
• Participate in department orientation sessions and training initiatives.
• Utilize the Cerner EMR for efficient documentation and patient record management.
• Adhere to the professional attire dress code within the department.
• Be prepared to float to different departments within the facility as required.
• Work on two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless otherwise scheduled.
• Bring an understanding of operating in environments without dedicated 24 / 7 anesthesia coverage, handling shared resources after hours.
