The In Vitro Biology group of Inotiv Boulder is focused on biomarker analysis to help our clients better understand the effects of therapeutics in a wide array of disease models. Our specialty lies in multi-color Flow Cytometry, custom In Vitro assay development, Luminex multiplex cytokine analysis, custom and commercial ELISA analysis and qRT-PCR. As part of the In vitro team you will be responsible for utilizing these techniques to help meet our customers goals of better understanding the disease models being tested.
This position is responsible for contributing to experimental design, execution and troubleshooting of cell and molecular biology-based assays aimed at analyzing biomarkers of disease from a wide array of In Vivo and In Vitro models. The role requires the individual to understand basic laboratory practices, sterile technique, Excel based data analysis and overall Good Laboratory Practices.
Primary Responsibilities :
Understand and experience with sterile technique, cell culture and maintaining a variety of cell lines, including mammalian cell culture
Experience in isolation of primary human immune cell and performing cell-based functional assays
Support and assist in performing cell and molecular biology assays.
Experience with Tissue processing, RNA / DNA isolation, ELISA, Luminex, qRT-PCR.
Both immortalized cell lines and primary cells from various animals (mouse, rat, human).
Communicate and coordinate with other members of the division, management, study coordinators, and other departments.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with all regulations and safety requirements.
Assist with process improvement within the In vitro biology team.
Other tasks as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities :
Perform related duties and tasks within the In vitor biology group as needed. Such duties may include tissue processing, experimental preparation, inventory and ordering, shipping and receiving, protocol writing and responding to customer / collaborator emails.
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor's in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
Familiarity with Excel and other computer programs
Preferred Education and Experience :
Wet lab experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to execute well controlled experiments and generate high quality data

Working Conditions :
Position is predominantly a laboratory-based position with some exposure to live animals.
Some work will require PPE (personal protective equipment)
Some work will require handling BSL2 pathogens and samples
Accurately calculate and record numbers
Good teamwork skills
Must be able to stand and / or sit for long periods of time
Must be able to perform all physical aspects required of position including periodic lifting items up to 30 lbs. and moving racks or large items on wheels
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
