American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical float position with required flexibility across all PCU / MS units and Epic experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital setting, floating between all PCU and Medical-Surgical unitsPatient ratios average 5 : 1 on PCU and 6 : 1 on MS, with potential to flex up to 7 : 1Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM; 4x12 hour shifts available by requestMay float multiple times per shift as staffing needs are reassessed every 4 hours, including possible float to Inpatient RehabWeekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week blockHoliday requirement includes at least one holiday per 13-week contractUses Epic EMR; prior experience requiredResponsibilities include a wide range of PCU and MS patient care, supporting cardiovascular and respiratory casesWill participate in rapid response and code teams as neededFirst-time travelers are acceptedAll requests for time off (RTO) must be included at the time of application; Christmas RTO cannot be accommodatedCall-offs may occur up to one shift every two weeks per facility policyCompliance with holiday coverage for at least one holiday during the assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only with a single-state non-compact licenseCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administrationSkilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support (e.g., nasal cannula, CPAP / BiPAP, chest tubes)Proficient with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, titrating cardiac drips, and responding to rapid response / code eventsExperience managing PCA and heparin protocols, IV insulin, and metabolic / endocrine conditionsBackground in telemetry and stepdown-level care, including pre / post cardiac cath experienceEpic EMR experience required\n Benefits\n
