Position Overview
RITA Corporation is seeking a hands-on Chemical Process Engineer with expertise in batch chemical manufacturing, mixing, and scale-up of formulations for the personal care and HI&I industries.
This role focuses on optimizing the production of liquid and semi-solid chemical blends —including emulsions, surfactants, and specialty ingredient systems—by translating lab-developed formulas into efficient, reproducible full-scale manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate has direct experience working with reactors, mixing vessels, heating / cooling systems, and clean-in-place (CIP) procedures , and thrives on improving process efficiency, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Scale up chemical formulations from lab and pilot batches to full-scale production (50–5,000+ gallons), ensuring reproducibility and quality.
- Develop and refine batch instructions, process specifications, and SOPs for mixing, heating / cooling, and raw material addition sequences.
- Optimize equipment performance —reactor agitation, temperature profiles, viscosity control, and mixing times—to improve yield and efficiency.
- Implement and validate cleaning procedures (CIP / SIP) for tanks, mixing vessels, and transfer systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process deviations through root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless transfer of new products into manufacturing.
- Maintain compliance with ISO, OSHA, and cGMP standards, ensuring a strong focus on safety and process integrity.
- Support continuous improvement and capital projects that enhance operational performance and process scalability.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required).5+ years of experience in chemical batch manufacturing, process scale-up, or production of liquid or semi-solid chemical products.Proven success in scaling lab formulations to production—ideally surfactants, emulsions, or personal-care ingredients.Hands-on experience with mixing vessels, agitators, heating / cooling systems, and chemical transfer / storage equipmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Excellent collaboration and communication across technical and operations teams.Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment (standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally).Only candidates with direct chemical processing or batch manufacturing experience will be considered.Why Join RITA?
