Outpatient Surgery Coder

A company is looking for an Outpatient Surgery Observation Coder.

Key Responsibilities

Reviews and analyzes outpatient medical record documentation for accurate coding

Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 HCPCS codes based on coding guidelines

Focuses primarily on coding for Outpatient Surgery, Wound Care, and Observation cases

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Coding experience is required

One or more coding certifications required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H)

Coding Certificate program from an AHIMA accredited institution preferred

Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is a plus
