Description

Job Summary :

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for maintaining accurate warehouse inventory records, conducting inventory audits, and resolving discrepancies. This role ensures inventory accuracy, supports warehouse operations, and trains team members on inventory management procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility :

This position provides guidance and training to employees but does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions :

Auditing (30%)

Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory levels meet customer demand.

Perform periodic physical inventory audits to verify stock levels match records.

Check inventory items for expiration or date sensitivity and follow proper procedures for discarding or transferring outdated products.

Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move palletized goods efficiently and safely.

Recordkeeping (25%)

Maintain accurate inventory records using scanners and manual tracking methods.

Make necessary inventory adjustments in the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure data accuracy.

Variance Identification and Adjustment (30%)

Investigate inventory variances and determine the cause of discrepancies.

Notify management of discrepancies or defective products in a timely manner.

Correct inventory discrepancies by ordering or returning products and initiating internal transfers.

Work with customer service and operations teams to provide necessary inventory information.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support business growth.

Training (15%)

Train team members on inventory management duties and best practices.

Promote and model safe work practices.
