Overview

Senior Editor, Finance (Evening Shift) is a 6-Month Contract with potential for extension. Full-time 40 hours. Remote (U.S. – Eastern Time preferred). Rate : $47-49 / hr.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Editor with a passion for financial news and a sharp eye for digital storytelling to help shape the future of our coverage. In this role, you will oversee the afternoon and evening publishing cycle, ensuring our homepage, front page modules, and editorial products reflect the most timely, accurate, and engaging content for our audience. This position is ideal for a finance-savvy newsroom leader who thrives on deadline pressure, understands digital distribution, and knows how to make financial news accessible and compelling to millions of readers.

What You’ll Do

• Run the finance homepage and related sections during afternoon / evening (ET) hours.
• Curate, edit, and package stories to deliver timely and accurate coverage.
• Write sharp, engaging headlines and ensure all stories meet editorial quality standards.
• Edit stories for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and style.
• Monitor breaking news and market developments to inform editorial decisions.
• Ensure proper handoffs with other front page and editorial team members.
• Collaborate across editorial, social, and distribution channels to maximize reach and engagement.
• Support push alerts, data-driven publishing, and other distribution efforts.
