Job Description Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in our Outpatient Care setting! Under the guidance of the practice physician or advanced practice provider (APP), and with support from the Nurse Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. You will be instrumental in assessing, planning, and evaluating individualized care plans, contributing significantly to our multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs, promptly reporting any abnormal findings to the treating provider.
- Gather and document comprehensive patient histories (medical, surgical, and social) alongside focused physical assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician or APP direction.
- Assist in in-office procedures pertinent to clinic specialty, documenting outcomes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Review and triage incoming test results, patient requests, and pharmacy renewals, ensuring efficient follow-ups as needed.
- Collaborate to utilize resources effectively, aiming to meet patient outcomes and contribute to quality metrics.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPN) and medical assistants (MA).
- Orient and educate newly-hired staff.
- Engage in ongoing education related to clinic specialty to stay current with best practices.
- Provide health education to patients regarding their visits and overall wellness.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree from a state-accredited Registered Nursing program is required.Current RN licensure in New York State is mandatory.CPR certification is essential.Certification in an Ambulatory specialty is preferred.Outstanding customer service and communication skills.Proficient in presenting information clearly and addressing inquiries from physicians, patients, and families.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is necessary.Experience with electronic health records is preferred.Ability to administer medications via various routes and proficient in calculating medication dosages.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
