Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Clinical Education Specialist

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (08 : 00 - 16 : 30)

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of five years of recent clinical experience and / or experience as an RN educator

License : Current RN license in California

Certifications : BLS Certification

Must-Have : BSN (Master's degree preferred), experience in nursing education, staff development, and curriculum development

Job Description :

• Provide ongoing assessment of staff members' educational needs and strategically design, implement, and evaluate educational offerings.
• Collaborate with department leadership and Director of Clinical Education to ensure staff competency.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate education programs provided and conduct annual needs assessments.
• Develop and implement department orientation for all staff members, offering written orientation plans and skills checklists.
• Partner with management to schedule new staff with mentors / preceptors and communicate learners' needs and goals.
• Assist managers in providing input for employees' introductory and annual reviews.
• Identify the need for in-service training and continuing education through assessments and professional practice trends.
• Develop training programs to ensure staff competence with new or revised procedures or practices.
• Monitor staff competence and maintain appropriate records, files, and statistics.
• Review and update reference materials for staff, patients, and physicians as applicable.
• Coordinate the development and / or revision of new standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct annual educational needs assessments for assigned units.
• Provide a monthly in-service topic along with additional educational training as needed.
• Maintain clinical competence in area of specialty and provide direct patient care as assigned.
• Promote positive working relationships with physicians, colleagues, vendors, guests, and others.
• Participate in intradepartmental and organizational committees and coordinate department meetings as needed.
• Actively participate in planning and implementation of annual competency fairs and project improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate skills necessary to provide care and services suitable to the population served.
• Other duties as assigned.
