Job description

Customer Service Representative

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.

This position is responsible for all aspects of customer service; receiving and processing orders, direct communication with our customers, follow up and problem solve orders when necessary, and provide efficient and professional service to our customers.

Receive and process customer orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Respond to customer inquiries professionally, directing them appropriately when needed.

Manage incoming calls, communicate order confirmations, and update customers on order status.

Enter customer and job data into JWS and coordinate deliveries with freight carriers for optimal efficiency.

Collaborate with customers, drivers, Sales, and Plant personnel; provide after-hours support as needed, including during inclement weather.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in using business systems and tools to support customer service functions.

Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

Commitment to teamwork, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Strong communication skills and professional telephone etiquette.

Proficiency in Windows-based programs, JWS, and SAP systems.

Bilingual in Spanish; customer service and sales experience preferred.

Knowledge of aggregates or construction materials helpful.

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or additional training preferred.

This role is based in an office setting within an aggregates operation. It may require occasional visits to plant or site locations. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and focused on delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or desk.

Occasional walking on uneven surfaces during site visits.

May require lifting or carrying office supplies or small packages (up to 25 lbs).

Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

Visual and auditory ability to respond to customer inquiries and communicate effectively.
