Surgical Coordinator (Stockbridge)

SpineSearch is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator / Authorization Specialist to join a busy orthopedic spine practice in Stockbridge and their growing team. The practice performs a high volume of in-office and surgery center pain management procedures and is looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a steady flow of scheduling and authorizations.

Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and schedule all surgical and in-office procedures for the physician and midlevels.
• Handle pre-certifications, insurance authorizations, and portal submissions efficiently.
• Communicate with surgery centers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure all approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of procedure scheduling, authorizations, and follow-up needs.
• Organize and prioritize daily workload in a high-volume environment
• Collaborate with part-time authorization staff and assist with training or process coordination as needed.
• Utilize Athena for scheduling and documentation (Athena experience strongly preferred).
• Participate in team meetings and live coordination sessions with the physician, midlevels, and administrative staff.
