Candidates must have experience with :
- Interface with project leadership and other project disciplines to ensure automation requirements and scope are understood
- Responsible for the generation of detailed automation design documents and test plans to ensure alignment with agreed technical approach and compliance with functional specifications
- Troubleshooting of hardware
- Resolve technical questions and concerns through interaction with customers, vendors, and internal personnel
- Develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability
- Analyze and validate material / component selection, performance, cost, manufacturability
- Work with cross-functional teams to complete subsystem and system verification
- Evaluate and prioritize pertinent business tasks with limited information
- Conceptualize, engineer, and complete detailed design of controls, safety, and power circuits for process automation
- Use CAD tools to design electrical schematics, pneumatic systems and panel layouts for automation systems per requirements
- Create specifications from variety of sources including from scratch as required
The essential requirements of the job include :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related STEM Major and 15+ years of process automation experience in a regulated industryComprehensive understanding of and strong hands-on experience with system / hardware integrationExperienced with stage gate engineering design processesAble to work independently with minimal directionExcellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills Experience at developing IEC and NFPA style electrical schematicsExposure to government regulated industries (GMP, GAMP)
