Job description

Avera Holy Family Hospital Work Shift : Primarily days

with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement (United States

of America) The pay range for this position is listed below. Be

of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Delivers Nursing

Care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care

objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical,

emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients,

families, and friends to understand patient conditions,

medications, and self-care skills; re-evaluating care objectives.

  • Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions;

communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information

to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other

healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological,

  • and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends;
  • conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by

    obtaining medical histories; documenting patient physical

  • condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors;
  • developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care

    objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and

    timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient

    care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends to understand

    condition, medications, and self-care skills; Evaluates patient

    care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health

    outcomes against patient care standards; re-evaluating care

    objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintains safe, secure,

    and healthy patient care environment by adhering to

    infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration

  • and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations;
  • adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal

    regulations; Documents patient care services by charting in patient

    and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by

    following operating instructions and established procedures; Keeps

    patient care supplies ready by checking stock; stocking items.

    Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by

    leadership. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be

    including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties

    and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear,

    understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Reasonable

    Required Education, License / Certification, or Work Experience : ~

    Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the

    state of practice Upon Hire Preferred Education,

    License / Certification, or Work Experience : ~Commitment to the daily
