Job description

Area Manager

The Area Manager is responsible for leading a team to achieve sales, profit, objectives by ensuring critical initiatives are developed and managed effectively in the region. The Area Manager leads a team, engaging and empowering everyone to execute with excellence and deliver on accountabilities.

The primary role is to positively impact the ability of operations team by leading, developing, and motivating the team to maximize sales and the continuous improvement of processes to achieve sales and profit growth objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities :

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Goodfellas Pizzeria. The best slice and cocktail bar period while focusing on Respect of the 4 "P's"
  • Develops sales operations plans and targets for a sales territory (region) in consultation with the Director of Operations.
  • Establishes operational strategies to drive profitable growth including the development of defenses against competitive threats.
  • Supporting the General Managers in developing relationships with their associates in order to fully execute sales initiatives and meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • Leads, trains and develops the store management associates through a disciplined coaching process in his / her role of managing day to day operations in line with the Goodfella Pizzeria values.
  • Creates an engaged, frontline focused sales / operations culture through consistent prioritization of associates capabilities, needs, and business growth.
  • Leads consistent execution of the Goodfellas Pizzeria world class practices.
  • Ensures all locations are maintained to world-class standards through store walks to ensure a fully engaged, team approach to accountabilities.
  • Ensures sales growth and profitability by inspiring management staff to achieve world class service and perfect store practices while building customer relationships that align with planned store level growth goals.
  • Accountable for the oversight of the entire order process to ensure effectiveness.
  • Quantifies and articulates sales information and objectives on a regular basis upward, laterally, and downward.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinates the collaborative effort with all support functions.
  • Assumes responsibility for implementing special projects as requested by Leadership.
  • Directly supervises : General Managers
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the proper staffing level of store associates in support of customer service needs.
  • Responsible for positively impacting the P&L through cost containment measures and effective management of labor costs.
  • Drive and support the achievement of safety goals; coach and lead the awareness of safety programs accordingly to eliminate unsafe acts, eliminate workplace injuries, and lead local organization to achieve the goal of zero injuries.

Requirements

  • Effectively implements programs for area of responsibility.
  • Ability to exchange complex information effectively to reach agreement in ambiguous or difficult situations.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions that are more tactical in nature with impact on multiple areas.
  • Education and Work History :

    Bachelor Degree in business or related field preferred.

    Ideal candidate will possess :

  • 3-5 years of related experience in customer relations or sales. Restaurant management experience a plus.
  • At least 6 months experience leading and influencing others.
  • A combination of training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively negotiate and influence others.
  • Experience in hospitality and bar management.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Computer skills and proficiency, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word are required.
  • Warehouse / distribution experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual - English / Spanish a plus.
  • Reside in the market that the applicant is overseeing.
  • Travel Required as needed
