American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position with strong telemetry and stepdown experience, requiring a MO or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) float role across multiple units including MS / Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU / StepdownCare for diverse adult patient populations including cardiac, neuro, endocrine, renal, orthopedic, and respiratory casesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (18 : 45–07 : 15)Weekend requirement of 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, including Friday, Saturday, and SundayFloating required to all medical-surgical inpatient units, including emergency department holdsNo on-call requirementBlock scheduling is not availableResponsibilities include managing complex patient care needs in a fast-paced, high-acuity PCU settingRole may include charge assignments and working holiday shifts as needed by the unitMust be able to manage multiple types of specialized equipment and provide care for post-surgical and critically ill patientsPre-employment drug screening required, with cancellation for unresolvable positive or diluted resultsCompletion of pre-start and orientation EMR and compliance modules requiredRTO (request for time off) is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the contractUp to 10-15 hours of compliance modules must be completed prior to the start dateFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license is required at time of considerationMust also hold a Kansas RN license or compact multi-state licensure to accommodate floating between departments and facilitiesMinimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience in PCU, with at least 1 year in the specialty within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 daysCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSDemonstrated skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response, cardiac drips, post-cardiac intervention care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, pre / post hemodialysis management, central and PICC line care, phlebotomy, wound care, and chest tube managementAbility to float within scope across specified care settings is requiredNo pending licenses accepted; all required licenses must be activeReferences required : two recent professional references (one supervisor-level or above, one charge RN), all from within the past yearCandidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility; local applicants not acceptedNo travel partners accepted\n Benefits\n
