The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans, with the ultimate goal of returning them to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity. The Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home is seeking a compassionate Custodian 1 to aid housekeeping staff in providing high-quality care to our honored veterans. Job Duties :

• Clean, mop, disinfect, dust, and sweep assigned areas daily.
• Clean patient rooms, rest rooms, and isolation rooms.
• Dispose of infectious waste.
• Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment.

Position-Specific Details : Appointment Type : Classified WAE (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period) Compensation : This position is eligible for retention pay (per hour worked).
