Lead Phlebotomist will work under the direction of Phlebotomy / Accessioning Supervisor. Lead Phlebotomist will lead and guide phlebotomists to perform day-to-day tasks in accessioning and phlebotomy area. Duties will also include but not limited to blood drawing, receipt, handling, accessioning and centrifuging specimens, sending specimens to Reference Laboratory, data entry and other supporting laboratory functions. Lead phlebotomist will provide guidance and training and oversee the work of phlebotomists. As part of the Laboratory team the lead phlebotomist is expected to comply with all safety and regulatory requirements and participate collaboratively. Required to work weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department.
A high school diploma and phlebotomy certificate or license and five -years relevant patient blood drawing experience, including pediatric sticks.
