Practice Overview
CHI St. Alexius Health - Dickinson is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Pediatrician to establish and lead our new Pediatrics Department . This is a unique opportunity to design and grow a program that will serve families across western North Dakota, where the demand for pediatric services continues to rise.
You will join a supportive team that currently includes one Pediatrician and one Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, working alongside on-site Primary Care, Internal Medicine, and Womens Health providers. With more than 600 babies delivered annually at our hospital, the need for dedicated pediatric care is clear and you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of childrens health in this community.
Position Highlights
Department-building role : opportunity to grow and shape the pediatric program from the ground up
Clinic schedule : Flexible 4x10s or 5x8s per week
Call schedule : Currently 1 : 3, moving to 1 : 4 with additional hires
Patient volume : 15-20 patients per day in clinic
Hospital responsibilities : Direct admissions to Level II Nursery; higher-acuity cases transferred to Bismarck or Fargo
Procedures : Circumcisions, intubations, newborn resuscitation, and c-section attendance (no conscious sedation in clinic)
Clinic setup : Located on hospital campus (3rd floor) with dedicated office, shared procedure room, and 3-4 exam rooms
Compensation & Benefits
CHI St. Alexius Health offers a competitive compensation package aligned with national benchmarks and designed to reward both clinical excellence and program growth :
Base Salary (1.0 FTE) : $328,304
wRVU Threshold : 6,636 annually
wRVU Conversion Factor : $49.47 / wRVU (70th percentile nationally)
Forgivable Loan : Up to 10% of salary as a starting loan, forgiven over 3 years
Relocation Assistance : Up to $15,000
CME Allowance : $3500 for single boarded; $5000 for double boarded physicians
Allowed Time Off : 40 days (320 hours) annually includes vacation, holidays, CME, and personal days
Production Incentive : Paid for wRVU production above threshold, with quarterly payouts and year-end reconciliation
Performance Incentive : Up to 5% of base compensation annually, tied to quality, outcomes, and patient experience
