DEPUTY FIELD SERVICES / SHERIFF

Overview

JOB OVERVIEW : The purpose of this position is to provide law enforcement services for the courts, including enforcement and service of court orders / documents, arrest and transport of prisoners, courtroom security, enforcement of criminal laws, and other duties as assigned. The work is performed under the supervision of the Sergeant-Field Services.

Responsibilities

• Enforces and serves court orders / documents, protection orders, warrants, mental health warrants / commitments, body attachments, WRITs, and assists with evictions.
• Prepares and files a lawful and timely return of service to the appropriate court of authority on all documents served, as set forth above.
• Testifies concerning such service as necessary.
• Provides courtroom security.
• Takes subjects into custody and transports to the appropriate holding facility / jail. Plans and implements prisoner transport to / from the St. Charles County jail, municipal / county jails, state / federal prisons, courthouse, and internal courthouse / courtroom transports.
• Plans and implements fugitive extradition transports throughout the US and US Territories.
• Enforces criminal / traffic laws, writes incident reports, assists outside agencies as needed, and responds to fire / panic / duress alarms.
• Take home vehicle program.
