Under supervision, direction, and guidance of the Registered Nurse, the Rehabilitation Care Partner provides patient-specific care, observation and intervention as directed by unit protocol to high-risk patients. Duties include assisting with activities of daily living, feeding, bathing, ambulating, taking vital signs, participating in milieu groups, and appropriately utilizing restraints on patients. The Rehabilitation Care Partner also ensures patient care guidelines are followed to reduce and prevent self-harm, and performs related support functions as required.
Minimum Qualifications
BLS / CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hireMinimum of three (3) years of directly related experienceMinimum of one (1) year of experience with vulnerable and behavioral high-risk populations (trauma, brain injury, incarcerated, homeless, and / or substance dependent patients)Commitment to complete 16-hour UCSD CPI / behavioral management / de-escalation training within six (6) months of hireCompletion of TBI and Trauma Informed Care trainingCompletion of 8-hour training with PT / OT on safe mobility for traumatically injured patients upon hireEnglish communication and demonstrated positive written skillsPreferred Qualifications
California CNA CertificationPrior experience as CNA, Psych Tech, Nursing Student, ED Tech, or Trauma TechEpic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling SystemsBilingual : Spanish / EnglishExperience in care of acutely brain-injured patients and rehabilitation of brain-injured patientsExperience in care of traumatically injured patients with psychiatric illness, brain injury, and / or substance use comorbiditiesSpecial Conditions
